Children's Hospital

Baron and I went to the children's hospital in Timisoara Saturday. We went with a Romanian lady. We hope to get in again this Friday. We pray they let us in even though we won't be with Cati this time. We don't know the full story of these 2 little baby girls, about one year old but we were told they were without parents. Sometimes parents do leave their sick child at the hospital and then come back for them. There was a 4 year old boy with leukemia who has been in the hospital 2 years and his parents have only come twice to visit him. They think his disease is contagious and they don't want to catch it. Another little boy, 12 years old has been in the hospital ever since he can remember. Pray for these children and for us to have wisdom as God directs towards this type of ministry.

God's Aricle

Baron and I have noticed that in Romania there is nothing "spiritual" advertised. No religious t-shirts, no billboards, nothing to make anyone think. So, we thought it would be a good idea to rent a little space in the local paper with a thought provoking statement or question and then advertise the church. Well, the man from our church that works for the paper thought this was such a great idea that he proposed to the head of the paper that we be allowed a whole page for an article, which we thought would be quickly shunned but low and behold they liked the idea too as long as we aren't prostelatyzing (or however you spell that word). Baron has written the first article about the Bible. He has a meeting today at 12 to talk with them about it. Pray that as people read the paper the Holy Spirit will use these articles, for however long we are allowed to do this, to draw people to God and make them think about what they believe and why. We basically wanted to do something that would make someone think and maybe to draw someone who is searching.
I want to also advertise something very interesting that I saw recently. It is a 35 minute presentation and it is quite moving and I thought quite convicting.

Courtyard

Summer is here. I love the courtyard in the summer. We set up the table under the grapevines and eat and play games. This was Spencer's and Nate's birthday party Friday night. Spencer got a new bike which as you can see he rode well into the night. Our guests had left and we had gone inside and it was bedtime but still Spencer rode on. As soon as he got out of bed this morning and ate breakfast he was out on his bike again. Drew announced that for his birthday he wants a bike just like that only smaller. Nate actually turns 1 on Tuesday the 12th. Spencer turned 7 on Tuesday the 6th. Nate had icecream for his birthday, he didn't much care for the cake.

The Altizers were here for a visit the last week of May!
Pastor Altizer looks kind of like Papa so the little boys warmed right up to him. We were greatly encouraged by them and enjoyed their visit.
