About Me

My photo
We have lived in Romania for 16 years now. We have 6 kids. The top photo of our family is the day we met the twins, just before their 4th birthday. We were granted custody of them on their 5th birthday.

Pictures

I can never pick which pictures to post...they are all so cute! I know you would want to see them all. I wanted to be sure that my 4th son never felt unloved for lack of pictures (you see I the second daughter in my family do not have many baby pictures of myself...not that I feel unloved or anything). So, here are the latest and greatest from the Howerton family. Nate the Great...still not teeth at almost 10 months!

grandparents

Papa Mac and Nana are coming. They are due to arrive in Budapest on Monday. It is a 5 hour drive there so we are not bringing the boys. Although, Zach did wheezle his way into coming. He is the only one who can be content in the car and read and occupy himself so we told him he could come. He said he wanted to be the first kid to meet them when they got off the plane. We are looking forward to poptarts and brown sugar and chocolate chips and oh yes, we are looking forward to seeing Papa Mac and Nana too :). Although, I did tell them if they can't make the flight for some reason to go ahead and send their luggage :).

Comments on Drew's preaching style

Well, I am not sure where Drew learned to preach. Baron never bangs the pulpit like that so I am just not sure where that came from. Maybe he has been watching some telaevangelist when he goes to Maria's house.
We had a good Sunday with 4 adult visitors. There were a total of 13 kids in the am. I took back 7 for nursery (ages 5 and under). One of my little gypsy stinkers, Zoli, stuck his finger in a plug and then made sure to draw my attention to him. He likes to be the center of attention.
We moved our clocks back Saturday night. My parents arrive next Monday just in time for Easter. We will pick them up in Budapest, Hungary.

Family resemblence

I am trying to look at these pictures and see the resemblence but I don't see one. Zach, who except for the color of his skin, looks like one of those long distance runners from Ethiopia looks nothing like Nate who probably already almost weighs as much as Zach! The picture is Zach doing his morning Yoga and Nate is doing his usual run away from mom while she is trying to dress me.

Family

The first story I have is Spencer's ear. Last Monday, I had the tall metal ladder set up to cut back the grape vines. It is very big and easy to see. Spencer decided to run through it and knocked it over on himself and gashed his ear. He cried and cried about the little scrape on his tummy. His ear lobe was ripped all the way through and left a little mark on his head too. So, after much crying and cleaning with peroxide and it finally stopped bleeding we discovered a y shaped gash on his ear lobe. Here is a picture of his ear.

I couldn't resist putting these photos here! Nate's brothers put the tiger hat on him and I pulled the camera out and Nate started posing. He would smile and squint his eyes everytime I got ready to take a picture. The three older boys spent the night with Ion and Maria last night. They love it and they learn Romanian that way. It forces them to speak and figure out what to say without always looking to mom or dad for the answer.
